A target of big international companies
The event lived up to the ambition of the new customer relationship, headquartered in Luxembourg. This juggernaut has a portfolio of 500 clients and records 1.2 billion euros in turnover for 48,000 employees in 28 countries in four continents – including more than 7,500 in Africa.
Created in February, this new Moroccan-German actor brings together the international outsourced services activities of the media group Bertelsmann and the Moroccan giant Saham, which has been investing since the sale of its former locomotive, Saham Finance.
The six-storey building becomes Mallorca’s fourth mainland location with Morocco, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire. 150 managers and customer relationship managers have been active since October 2018, serving clients of major international companies such as Amazon or Orange, as well as multinationals in banking and insurance.
At the helm of this Togolese establishment, Otmane Serraj, current CFO and shared services, as well as Adil Berrada, Majorel’s commercial director for France, Benelux and Francophone Africa regions.
500 employees by 2021 “We first occupied two floors but I quickly decided to invest the whole building, because we were very quickly convinced that we could go even further, here in Lomé, explains Olivier Charlot, director France, Benelux and French-speaking Majorel. We had started from scratch two years ago with the hope of reaching 100 employees in October 2019. But we have already exceeded 150 people and we will be closer to 300 employees before the end of the year ” continues the leader. By 2021, the Togolese center should have 500 employees. For its installation, the Moroccan-Germanic group was supported by the Ministry of Posts, Digital Economy and Technological Innovations Togolese, led by Cina Lawson. Among other things, it is responsible for attracting foreign private capital through a very young investment promotion unit created in February 2019.
Support from the authorities
“We make sure that companies investing in Togo can start in record time. We have redesigned the telecom landscape to adapt it to the needs of the outsourced services industry. We also set up a database of young students with good speech, a good level of French and ease of discussion, “explains the minister. In parallel, a real estate portfolio has been designed to provide premises for “future contact centers”.
Convinced, Majorel is already looking to set up an additional establishment: “Many of our clients are interested in the Togolese destination since we opened in Lomé and we are already in discussion with the authorities to identify other centers in order to we develop more, “concludes Otmane Serraj.
